The New York Jets started out with a bang - fans hope that the Jets are as good as they seem. Not many people gave the Jets a chance to beat the New England Patriots (only Jets fans and the Jets team probably).
The Jets looked great during the first week of football, with a big win in Houston over the Texans. Rookie QB Matt Sanchez looked like he's NFL ready in their first game. This was very exciting.
Entering week 2, the Patriots were a heavy favorite vs. New York and were expected to beat the Jets, as they ordinarily do in New York. Tom Brady had beaten the Bills the week before, and with an effective drive in the final two minutes of the game, brought the Patriots to victory.
If rookie Sanchez can limit his interceptions, manage the game, and keep his completion percentage around 60%, there is no reason the Jets can't make a serious Super Bowl run. The AFC is very strong this year so it won't be easy.Mark Sanchez is the first rookie quarterback in NFL history to throw over 200 yards in his first three starts.
Mark Sanchez has shown why he was highly coveted coming from USC. Mark Sanchez has the benefit of a good running game and a solid defense many rookies are not accustomed to having.
The Jets defense looked as strong as I can ever remember it looking, and new coach Rex Ryan deserves a lot of credit for reshaping a defense that struggled through much of last season.
He's bringing the Ravens mentality to New York and the Ravens have a championship because of the success in defense they've had.
My hat goes off to the Jets for a huge win. This shows, if they can beat Tom Brady and the Patriots, they can defeat any team on any given Sunday.
