Contrary to what some people might think, England is far more than just bad weather and bad food. On the contrary, nothing could be further from the truth and although there is quite a lot of rain at certain times the year, you will find that England has an enormous amount to offer. It must also be said that England is far more than just London and the surrounding area.

In times of recession, short breaks in England make for a viable alternative and there is certainly no shortage of places to visit. If you're looking for a beach holiday, then there are certain resorts which are usually find in the summer months or you could go up to East Anglia which is much less populous and much to the rest of the country and is also home to some fine beaches.

If you're looking for city breaks, then there are also plenty of choices. Just a name a few out of literally dozens, you could enjoy the fine city of York, Durham or Cambridge. There is far more to England and just London.

Just a name a few ideal destinations, London is the most obvious and has plenty of attractions. However, if you want a more peaceful holiday then rural England makes for an unforgettable experience. There are plenty of quaint holiday cottages all over the country available for rent. Another particularly popular place to pay a visit to is the Cotswolds which though rather expensive, but some are the finest areas in the country.

Finding short breaks in England is not difficult since there are so many holiday cottages for rental and getting around is best done by hiring a car or driving in your own car of course. In England you can find everything from camping and hiking holidays to city breaks to quaint short holidays in the countryside. Either way, you should have no difficulty in finding the perfect short holiday.
