By Jessie Morris

Paintball is a game which is recreational and it is very competitive. It's loved by many people, and it is performed by firing pellets at the opponent that are full of fresh paint. It is really an action strategy or war game, the objective in winning would be to capture the other person's flag. It was first performed through the marine corps throughout basic training, and paintball games Los Angeles is attaining much recognition.

The first modern games featured players that were throwing paint balls instead of shooting them from guns, the paints were oil based and could not be washed off easily with water, this meant that players afterward would have to use turpentine in order to get it off.

There are three main pieces of equipment that the player will need, this includes the shooting device that is used to mark their opponent, and this device has a gas bottle that will propel the balls and a special loader. The paint balls are capsules that contain a special gel and dye, and finally masks which will provide protection for each person's head.

The rules are agreed upon by all before the games begin, and these rules are usually very flexible. However, it typically involves individuals who are trying to eliminate opponents by shooting them an agreed amount of times. When at this point, an opponent will be considered dead and they must leave the playing area and are unable to return.

There is a referee who will oversee everything and keeps up with everyone who has been tagged. Because the balls may cause an abrasion when fired too closely, most rules will prohibit shooting within a certain distance of the intended target. Firing continuously at a rapid rate is also highly discouraged when using an electronically controlled gun.

Many occasions it's performed in a commercial sense, the participants will pay an admission fee, other times it is carried out on private property. The sites sometimes are created to seem like specific conditions, such as in a forest, and in some cases the terrain is man-made and are made to look historic.

Always remember when playing, skill is very important and you should always be thinking about where your opponents are. When caught up in a line of fire, using agility to jump and run in order to get out of the way is vital. Make sure that you have all the proper equipment, and remember it is a team effort, and most of all it can be very exciting and enjoyable.
