Stewarding Nature With Wildlife Grass Seed

By Stephanie Wood

Man is a killer. There is no question about it. Throughout history, men have killed other men, history can actually be seen as a circle of violence with no end in sight. Progress has been driven by the desire to make killing much easier. As such, wildlife grass seed New England was created, to help satisfy the need to kill animals.

Seeds are typically planted with life in mind. The life that comes from food, the life that is built on harvesting crops, and the life that comes with creating something new in the world. Not so with wildlife grass seeds. Those are planted to nourish, yes. But to nourish animals to make it easier to hunt them down.

Land with abundant food sources will be full of fauna. More animals equal more targets, making it much easier for a hunter to make a kill. The healthy food source also means a higher quality of animal killed, as opposed to a mangy runt, a hunter can back a hearty buck.

Beasts are physically superior to humans. It would take a group of men armed with weapons just to be a match for one bear or lion or rhino. They are also faster than humans, a cheetah can run more than twice as fast as the fastest human ever recorded. But humanity still wins in the end through a combination of endurance, that is being more effective in the use of energy, and weapons, tools designed to kill. A tired animal is a vulnerable animal and there are few things more dangerous than an armed and determined person.

Now, humanity has harnessed the plant life and created many types of it. There are seeds that will grow a grass that is preferred by deer and elk. Some types will help a fawn grow into a big buck.

When choosing the kind of seed to plant, think about the kind of animal you want to feed. Some variants will contain the nutrients that make the results attractive to birds. Other variants will be more attractive towards larger quadrupeds like deer or elk.

Of course, killing is not the only use for the seeds. The plants grown can also be used to feed livestock over a period of time, even the ones not meant to be killed at a later point in time. Healthy animals are useful animals, and some animals are tools that must be properly maintained like any other.

A dead animal, when harvested quickly, can have many uses for a person. The skin can be turned into leather, which can then be turned into different goods like clothes and accessories. Obviously, the meat can be consumed for sustenance.

One on one, most animals outmatch humans by a comfortable margin. But mankind is the dominant species and other animals are subservient. When creating a food plot, it is important to be respectful of the animal, even when killing it.
