Using Hotel Key Card Sleeves

By Harriet Porter

Security is a serious problem facing the hotelier business thus slips with bar codes are replacing the traditional lock and key method, this new method is not only secure but also convenient to the customers too. Many customers tend to carry coins and keys with the cards which scratch and scrap them affecting their functionality, dropping the cards is another way in which the slips break and get scratched. The use of Hotel key card sleeves has by far proven to be the only way to ensure that the cards functionality is maintained over a long period of time.

The protective wallets are made of various materials ranging from velvet, paper to thick and heavy materials like denim. The materials are made to cover the various conditions that the slips are bound to encounter in the hands of the customer. Heavy and thick materials are more favorable since they not only protect from scratching but also breaking and snapping when sat on or dropped on concrete surfaces.

The size of the slip is universal thus all the protective wallets can accommodate any kind of slip regardless of the premises in question. The size is normally three and a half inches in length and two and half inches wide, they can be made bigger with several pockets in accordance with the preference of the customer.

Finance is one aspect that affects many premises when purchasing the slips but the materials have been made to accommodate any budget. Paper wallets are the cheapest and readily available but they are not durable thus they have to changed regularly to ensure safety of the slips.

High end restaurants use sleek and elegant materials like leather and velvet, the reason behind this is that the materials have the touch of sophistication to act as a status symbol. Due to their high prices the wallets are only made on order from the premises, they are customized as required by the customers to make them unique and easily identifiable. Although pretty expensive, these wallets are very reliable and are able to withstand various conditions without subjecting the slips to damage and destruction.

Heavy and thick materials like denim are also common with the upscale hotels; they rank high on the cost chart due to the fact that they are strong and resistant to many substances. Unlike the other materials denim is able to protect the slip from snapping when sat on since they are firm and stiff, the set back of this material is that it shrinks when in contact with water.

Initials or names of the premises can be inscribed in the wallets for a unique look; this is done by customizing them as per the customers directives. Color and names makes them easily found when issuing the cards to customers, the codes do not change thus the slips should be kept for quite some time.

Using the bar code slips is a sure way of eliminating any chances of insecurity but the undertaking could prove to be costly if not maintained well. Getting the right material is equally important as using the cards thus choosing should be done with discretion.
