Holiday Concepts For Tourists

By Kyle Olsen

It is has to be said that South Africa is one of the best countries in the world for awesome holidays and tours. This country is one of the most colorful and diverse as far as its people and the many different cultures are concerned. If you are thinking about adding a tour to your holiday itinerary, then keep reading to learn about some of the wonderful things you can experience in South Africa

So this is exactly why you have to make SA and Cape Town you one stop South African holiday destination. It's stunning and warm and friendly. (can't emphasize that enough) There are so many places to go can so easily become overwhelming to decide what to do and when to do it. Like do you drive up the Garden Route or visit all the best beaches in the world? Or do you do the touristy thing and go up Table Mountain and ride the famous cable cars, or do you follow one or two of the awesome wine routes? There are just so many choices and it's hard to decide. So we say welcome to the Jewel of SA!

Now a very quick mention was made of the beaches so here is a bit more to chew on. Dotted around this city are 3 Blue Flag beaches. This means they won best and cleanest beaches in the world. We even have a Sandy Bay, a nudist beach, if you are curious about what it's like (or really, really brave). This beach you won't find on any tour guide map, but if you ask around, people will point you in the right direction. If that's a bit racy for you or you have kids with you, then head off to Gordon's Bay. The water is warm and the beaches clean and there is even a flea market nearby to look at and buy some of the local hand crafted goodies like handmade sandals of real leather, jewellery and loads of other stuff.

In the center of town is the harbor, and naturally close by the harbor is the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront. Now this place is going to consume a lot of time so be prepared to spend at least one full day or maybe even two! The kids will love the aquarium and the Ferris wheel. They will also enjoy a boat tour of the harbor and see the wild seals that play in the water in and around the waterfront. Let them watch a movie while you stroll around browsing and shopping, maybe have a snack at the oyster bar? Or instead of spending days at the V&A, spend the day soaking up some real history and maybe taking a few really beautiful photos of a true historical place, The Castle of Good Hope. Take the tour and see the dungeons. Walk the halls of where they defended the walls. An interesting fact, the Castle was virtually on the beach way back in the day. It was built in the 17th century in Cape Town and was originally located on the coast of Table Bay. The Castle is now far inland following land reclamation. When you see how far inland the castle really is, you will be awestruck at how much the lad has reclaimed from the sea. It is something quite incredible.

A holiday visit to South Africa is definitely not complete without a visit up along the Garden Route! Here you will not only see some of the most stunning scenery, but also experience the strangest (and lovely) feeling of absolute peace and tranquility. Just driving along the Garden Route has the most amazing effect on your mood; total relaxation and a feeling of comfort, somehow. All Along the Garden Route you will find tiny little spots completely surrounded by the stark beauty of Africa. There are hundreds of little guest houses and camp sites to stop over at and experience South African hospitality at its best. Stop by, and let the small town friendliness welcome you.
