Use Portable Silos In Construction Sites

By Cornelia Reyes

Portable silos are structures that are designed to store a sizable mass of materials. They have many uses such as storing grain for agricultural use, cement, food products, carbon black, coal, wood-chips and sawdust. They have been used for many years in different parts of the world, but saying this, they may have been made from other materials like wood.

Since the invention of the conveyor belt, there have been other mechanical systems that increase the productivity of a person, team or company. A construction site is a particular place that benefits from these inventions. Buildings take time to build, but most people need the building sooner than that.

Cement silos are on-site storage containers that are used to store and distribute different types of cement mixtures. They also come in a variety of sizes, therefore making them ideal for any type of construction site. Nowadays they are generally made of metal making them stronger and more reliable.

The needs of a construction depend generally on the scale of work to be put in. Small scale constructions are not so demanding as compared to major ones. This implies that not every project requires a giant foundation and a half dozen cement trucks for work to progress. In fact the use of a movable silo is only limited to only certain types of projects.

One container which is mobile in nature could come in varied sizes. However, these are often smaller unlike the kinds that are permanent. They are as well created from varied materials that could affect the quality of food which is stored in them. Therefore, farmers should take into consideration, the type of material used to make their silo before purchasing them.

Other prime locations for the large silo are mining sites and also very large construction sites which are rather inaccessible due to narrow paths leading to the sites. On the other hand, smaller building sites that need cement during the construction stages prefer the portable, smaller silo that can be moved around the site as needed. Flexibility in such sites is enhanced when these facilities are incorporated in the process of construction.

A cement silo has several parts which enable its working. They may look like simple machines but there are quite a few parts to make it work properly. The parts of a storage cement silo include the overfill protection unit, load cells, a dust filter with reverse pulse system, electronic level probe, man hole, exterior ladder and cage, Domed and slopping lid, Built in internal ladder and a fill pipe with pneumatic butterfly and actuators.

Rather than hauling bags of cement and barrels of water to a work site, or mixing cement in a wheelbarrow and rolling it to the pour mold, some portable silos concrete systems are small enough to be pulled by a powerful ATV. Keep your concrete project on track and consistent with a movable concrete mixing system. Delays are a thing of the past.
