By Zahara Tours Oman

Oman should be on every traveler's list of places to go before you die. It is worth your time to discover Oman, and once you do, you will not regret it. Many people around the world have started to travel to exotic and magical places and Oman is on the top of that list.

Oman dates back to 3,000 BC. This land is not only ancient; it is steeped in old tales and mystique. Oman is the birthplace of the popular Queen Sheba, home of Sindbad the sailor and has many hidden treasures. There are many forts, exotic places to visit and magical souqs where you can immerse yourself in the old charms and ancient artifacts.

Oman is also known as the Sultanate of Oman and it is popularly called 'Land of Treasures'. For many years it has been one of the most popular holiday destinations in the Middle East and now it welcomes tourists from all over the world. In antiquity, Oman was the trade capital for spices and precious metals and still retains that magical era of yesteryears.

If you desire you can take the Mystical Muscat' tour, where you will be shown all the beautiful sights of this magnificent city. You can visit the Grand Mosque (except Friday), Bait Al Zunair Museum (except Friday), and go and tour the fish market and colorful and beautiful souqs. You can also plan a visit to the stunning Al Alam Palace (The official Palace of his majesty Sultan Qaboos).

If you like to visit forts then you can take the 'Fascinating Forts' tour. Nizwa is known as the birthplace of Islam, and Nizwa has the famous Round Tower Fort, which was built in the 17th century. This castle is beautiful and exquisite and on the way to Muscat you can tour the Birkat Al Mauz, which is on the foothills of Jebel Akhdar (Green mountain).

Don't miss the Al Hoota Caves, again situated in Nizwa. After you see the beautiful Round Tower Fort you can go to the Al Hoota Caves. Here you can see stalactites and stalagmites and also an underground lake. You can visit this show-cave only by an electric train. This train runs through a tunnel next to the main entrance. The cave is full of exciting pathways and is lit up by a special lighting system.

If you are short on time, go for the 'Twilight Dhow Cruise' that is 3 hours long; this cruise is only operational on Sundays and Thursdays. Another fun and exciting cruise is the 'Amazing Dolphins' that is 3 hours 30 minutes long. The 'Batinah Bash' is a full day tour along the Batinah coast where you can enjoy the sun, sea and surf peacefully.

Oman is home to many mountains and you can view them on the 'Majestic mountains' tour. The beauty of all these places will strike you only when you get to see them in person when you travel to Oman.
