If we look at annual figures, approximately three and six billion trees are being cut down worldwide. This has to do with the demand for goods that are created from trees. Writing paper and household tissue papers are an illustration of this, as well as the wood used to build homes. We all should assume responsibility in keeping our forests even if there are things we have to use that are made from trees.
Trees are celebrated on Arbor Day and the idea is that we need to plant trees at that time but this is not actually tackling the issue. The reality is, trees are not being planted by the majority of the population. If each one of us could plant a tree, it would make a difference.

We know in reality that this is not likely to take place.
If you would like to save our environment, planting trees is a positive step that you can take. And I don't mean to just go out once every year and plant a tree. I am proposing that you plant a tree about once every month or even once per week. We have to try to compensate for people who refuse to plant trees even though they keep on using the earth's valuable resources.
Figures show that anywhere up to 15 million trees are planted on Arbor Day. So on an annual basis, we are short by about 5 billion trees. And every year, it simply continues to get worse.
I actually have a solution to the problem entirely even though folks should nonetheless continue to plant trees whenever they can. If a law could be passed that each time a tree is felled by companies in the timber trade, they then had to plant two new ones, this could truly make a huge difference.
But then, until someone can turn this into reality, we are left to take care of planting the trees ourselves. In actual fact, restoring the amount of trees required is definitely doable. The number of trees chopped down every year could be replaced if ten percent of the world's population planted one tree once a month. On average, that would be approximately 7 billion trees being planted every year. For the number of trees we need to return to, an effective net gain of 1 billion trees will be the way to reach this goal.
So for anyone who would like to make a positive difference to our world, go plant a tree. Once more, it just takes 10% of our population to begin making a difference. It is up to you if you want to get involved.
