As a consequence of tree felling, we lose up to six billion trees on an annual basis. This has to do with the demand for items that are made from trees. For example, paper is utilized both in the home and workplace and wood is used in the building of homes. We all have to take responsibility in maintaining our timberlands even if there are things we have to use that are made from trees.
Despite the fact that we have Arbor Day, and all of us must plant a tree every Arbor Day, that is merely taking care of a small part of the problem. Planting trees is not something that a lot of folks give any thought to. It would help, naturally, if everyone did.

Nonetheless, we could replace the trees that are chopped down each year if every one of those folks did actually plant a tree on Arbor day. We are aware that this is not going to occur.

In terms of planting a tree, I would not suggest you just do this on a certain day each year. How about planting trees on a weekly basis or at least once a month? The reason is because someone needs to compensate for all those individuals using our resources but don't want to plant a tree for whatever reason.
Numbers indicate that anywhere up to 15 million trees are planted on Arbor Day. That still leaves us with a 5 billion tree shortfall annually. Regrettably, this is not improving.
I actually have a solution to the problem entirely although people should still keep on planting trees whenever they can. It could be made a legal requirement that anyone involved in the felling of trees should replace each one chopped down with two newly planted ones and this would go a long way to solving the problem.
But then, until someone can turn this into reality, we are left to take care of planting the trees ourselves. And it won't take that much for us to increase the tree population annually. If each and every month, approximately 10% of people on the planet could plant a tree, that would compensate for the numbers being cut down every year. Annually, this would equal to the planting of approximately 7 billion trees. And that 1 billion surplus of trees are just what we need to get our tree population back to where it should be.
Planting a tree is a way all of us help the earth. Bear in mind that we only need 10% of the world's population to commit to this. You decide if you want to get involved.
