The Dave Matthews Band Comes to Atlantic City

By Martin Rolee

Bader Field now bears a festive look after years of neglect as the Dave Matthews Band Caravan members move into action here in Atlantic City. Local residents are exuberant to see the defunct airport being given a complete transformation to make space for the big event which will last three days here before going on to other areas. This place was abandoned for some time until now and it had evolved into an illegal dump of sorts over the time, based upon a report on the Press of Atlantic City website.

Sprucing Up the Site

Loads of work has gone into getting Bader Field ready for the band but it has been worthwhile. The majority of the project was completed by the Public Works Department here. Since February 2011 when the concert was confirmed, personnel began cleaning up more than 300 tons of trash that had accumulated here. After weeding the site, hauling off the destroyed barbed wire fencing and also cutting back the overgrown shrubbery, the Department has truly transformed the once unpleasant Braden Fields into a level open site that is going to be ideal for holding these kinds of functions. The ground was regraded and landscaped too in a bid to create a favorable impression of Atlantic City', according to the article.

About the Dave Matthews Band

Authorities hope that the Dave Matthews Band Caravan will give the site some much needed positive publicity and that this will help Atlantic City tourism too. Looking at the tremendous Ferris wheel, the tents organized for shops and beer tasting counters, it is clear that no effort is being spared to bring in visitors to the event. The group is making its first stop of 4 here in Braden field and the kind of reception it gets here is very critical to the entertainers. According to Starr Hill, the promoters of the concert, around 2000 individuals will be involved in the event when it actually takes off this week. Three dozen artists will be performing on 3 separate stages set up here by the promoter. Food, fun and music- it will all be here for local people and also travelers to enjoy at the Braden Field when the Band Caravan event starts. If you are planning your holiday, then this is definitely the perfect timing for a vacation to Atlantic City.

A Site for Future Events

The Public Works department is wanting to present the Braden Fields location as the ideal area for future events too. This will likely attract more tourist interest to Atlantic City, they hope. They have already achieved some degree of success in repurposing Sandcastle Stadium and finalizing the Atlantic City Summerfest here on July 2nd.

Planning your Vacation

The Dave Matthews Band Caravan is probably going to draw a great deal of crowds and this means that you should book your accommodations in Atlantic City early if you wish to take part in the event. Check in at the Atlantic Palace, a bluegreen resort situated in the heart of the city right on the Boardwalk on New York Avenue. Staying at this resort will keep you well within reach of all the city's hotspots plus you enjoy the matchless hospitality and luxury that only a Bluegreen resort will offer you.
