There are people interested in ski instruction or working in winter sports, but they will be required to achieve certification. This process usually involves taking ski instructor courses. In the USA, this certification process is completed through the PSIA or the Professional Ski Instructors of America.

If you are seeking employment at a smaller facility, you will be trained by the resorts ski school and then take an exam. If you pass, you are well on your way to become an instructor at their resort.
