Listen to snow crunching under your feet in winter, or hear your shoes tread the streets where celebrated visual, literary and performing artists have stepped. Your trip to a st petersburg russia hotel places you right in the heart of Russian culture, past and present. Choosing an historic hotel need not mean sacrificing convenience and comfort. You just might spend a whole day exploring the halls before you go outside.
At the Nevsky Grand Hotel you will thank the luck that placed you five minutes from a subway ride to the Hermitage. Choose to walk ten minutes to the museum instead, but begin with a trip to the snack bar or international restaurant housed in your hotel. Your business meeting may take precedence over tours, but the hotel can take care of the details while you plan your route. Arrange for projector, flip chart and more to await you in the meeting room.
The twenty-four hour front desk and security give you added comfort after a late show at the theatre or a tour of St Petersburg nightlife. During reasonable hours, enjoy a bite at the snack bar or a meal at the international restaurant. If you do not tire yourself out too much to get up in time for breakfast, continental fare is on offer in the breakfast room.
The grand facade of the Grand Hotel Europe gives visitors a clue as to the caliber of guests who have graced their hallways. Famous opera singers, composers and authors have stayed in these rooms for over a century, and now some accommodations have been refurbished and re-opened. Enjoy a mix of antique charm with modern facilities such as large bathrooms for guests who like to spread out.
Five restaurants await your pleasure if food is on your mind. Try some Russian caviar or an Asian supper before taking a cocktail at the hotel bar. Shake down a rich Italian meal with a walk around Arts Square, viewed by guests staying on the Historic Floor.
Near the Hermitage, also known as the Winter Palace, Petro Place puts you in the midst of Russian history. Use the high speed internet provided to figure out a tour route before tackling the city. Destinations on your map might include St. Isaacs Cathedral with its gilded dome. This once central church in St Petersburg Christian life now mainly operates as a tourist destination. View international exhibits of art and artifacts at the Hermitage, former home to Russian Tsars.
Check out upcoming performances, entrance fees and exhibits using high speed internet in your room. Take a break to sip from your mini bar or warm your feet with the under floor heating in your bathroom. Enjoy cable and satellite television and brush up on your Russian.
