Mini Informative Guide To Vietnam

By Jose Mauricio Maurette

Nha Trang City in Central Vietnam is a must visit place if you are looking to incorporate few nights of relaxation in your Vietnam holidays. It also has a few sights worth a look in, considering the main draw here is the beautiful beach and the lifestyle that goes with it, even these may sometimes be overlooked.

How to Get There

Because no one in Vietnam follows road rules or maybe because simply there are no rules is best to travel by plane or by train unless of course you are coming from a nearby city where a road transfer is feasible. Nha Trang is located in central Vietnam and it takes less than 2 hours to fly from Hanoi or Saigon. A train ticket can also be booked but the journey takes around 12 hours.

Accommodation

Nha Trang has over 200 hotels to choose from, from basic to sumptuous, and new ones are sprouting up all the time. Unsurprisingly, the most expensive are on Tran Phu, the waterfront boulevard.

Sheraton Nha Trang Hotel & Spa: Overlooking one of the world's most beautiful bays, the beachfront Sheraton Nha Trang Hotel & Spa offers easy access to a 7-kilometer stretch of golden sand and picture-perfect waters. Offering an ocean view from each of its 284 rooms, Sheraton Nha Trang marries an alluring destination with a host of innovative facilities designed to appeal to business and leisure travellers alike. A full-service spa, health club and outdoor pool invite wellness pursuits and ample opportunities for relaxation.

Diamond Bay Resort Nha Trang: Three hundred and forty-two beachside rooms along the secluded Song Lo Bay in Nha Trang allow visitors to enjoy one of Vietnam's newest suites and villas. The resort includes state-of-the-art amenities and wireless Internet connection for guests to keep in contact with friends and family or to get some last minute business done.

Attractions in Nha Trang

The Champa city of Kauthara is modern Nha Trang, the only one of these cities that retained some importance, and from where two important Champa Towers sites can be visited. The city is surrounded on three sides by mountains; a large island is on the fourth side, in front of the municipal beach. Despite being a solid part of the Vietnamese soil, the small islets half hidden under the eternal mist in front of its coasts, create the illusion that Nha Trang is just another one of them.

Coco Dive Center: Excellent place to learn to Dive. There are tons of Scuba diving schools in Nha Trang, but surely you will be impressed with the knowledgeable, reassuring and non pushy staff at this centre. Ok it is not Caymans Island but the boats are great and the diving excellent.
