Explore Sweden And Stay In The Best Hotels In Stockholm

By Estanislao Chapel

I will never forget the splendid time I spent exploring the famous sights of Sweden and finding out the best hotels in Stockholm. I went to Sweden's finest museums and there were certainly other places to come across and experience. I made up my mind to travel around and discover the way of life of the locals which fascinated me ever since.

I found out that there are about 165 hotels. That was in Stockholm alone and I stayed at this wonderful hotel called Hotel Rival which is ranked the number 3 choice of Stockholm's best hotels. The rooms are enormous and meticulously designed and with really comfortable beds. The bathrooms are huge and immaculately clean as well. Even though a lot of modern design touches have been done, it is pretty obvious that this hotel has been in existence for quite some time and one of the best indeed.

I can't live without going online but I soon found out that my hotel's internet access was great. There was this small but gorgeous caf right beside the hotel. I decided to have my first meal there and I would certainly come back for more meals to try out. The place was splendid. I got the opportunity to have a nice conversation with the locals and they gave me sincere tips when I asked them for some travel advice.

Skokloster Slott Castle was one of the first places they told me to visit. This castle was built in the 17th century and is regarded as one of the most captivating museums in Europe. It is being commended for its exceptional interior design and wide collection of items like paintings, tapestries, weapons, books and furniture. I was also amazed with their automobile museum where I stayed a little longer than the other tourists. Getting something to eat after covering every inch of the place was not a problem at all. They actually have a restaurant in there.

The Viking Town of Birka is one of the places where tourists go to so they can get to see how the Vikings lived before. It is located on an island in Lake Mlaren and known as the major port for 1,200 years. There is a new museum built in the area where they placed treasures that had been excavated.

A little trip away from Stockholm, I also visited Gripsholm Castle since this was conveniently within the Lake Maaleren area. It's located in the small town of Mariested. Its marvelous castle built in 1540 during the renaissance period. Gripsholm contained remarkable renaissance interiors including a theatre. They also take pride in having the world's best, oldest and largest portrait collections. Seeing these places in Sweden felt like I was being transported back in time.

The next on my list was the place they called Kingdom of Crystal. This is where the best glass work were made and most of their masterpieces were actually made by hand. I never wanted to leave without buying one of the glass works that was made there and I actually did.

After my Stockholm travel, I realized that there is so much more to explore in Sweden and so, I am planning my trip back already. This time, I will try other hotels so that I would be able to experience more of the Swedes hospitality. You should too! Plan your travel to Sweden and be prepared to be in awe of its beauty. Best to travel with your loved ones so you have someone to share the excitement with.
