Millions of tourists flock to the UK every year, drawn there by the many unique attractions it has to offer. Besides the history, culture, and contemporary comforts, the beaches of the United Kingdom are an excellent attraction. Following is a list of the best beaches on offer:

With the famous Brighton Pier as a backdrop, Brighton Beach in Sussex provides daytime traditional seaside fun mixed seamlessly with funky night time funky club culture. During the daytime, you can swim or sunbathe at Brighton's topnotch pebble beach, enjoy sailing or water sports on the ocean, or just take a stroll on the Brighton walkway and sample the cosmopolitan character of the numerous bars and cafes. Then, when the sun goes down, it's time to partake of the nightlife at the many bars and clubs of Brighton, which lie sheltered beneath the Victorian arches along the beachfront.

In Lancashire, Blackpool Beach is a large beach with soft sand on which to rest. It is near a top United Kingdom amusement part, which is known as Blackpool Pleasure Beach. There are over 125 attractions at this amusement park. The most popular ride is a roller coaster called Pepsi Max Big One. This coaster is widely believed to be the best one in the United Kingdom. Along the beach you will find all the traditional aspects of UK seaside trip, such as a pier, donkey rides and fish and chip shops.

Situated in South Wales, Rhossili Beach offers commanding views, spectacular cliffs, burial cairns and mysterious shipwrecks. The beach stretches over 5 kilometers, which means surfers, fishermen, and bathers will have many activities from which to choose. This beach is one of the most natural beaches in the United Kingdom, and you will really enjoy its quaintness. When you get hungry, you can go to Rhossili, a nearby village, and eat at one of its restaurants which provide panoramic views of the beach disappearing into the horizon.

Holywell Bay in Cornwall, just a short distance from the town of Newquay, is famous for its fine walkways and surfing beaches. Enjoy this beach at low tide so you will be able to view a very old shipwreck peeking out of the ocean. A system of paths will take you on easy but breathtaking walks through the cliffs. You can choose from a number of eateries for lunch or a quick snack, and there are areas set apart for family barbecues which are great for eating and relaxing at the end of the day.

All of these beaches have plenty of lodging choices, so if you decide to extend your vacation, you will definitely have a place to stay. The normal prices range from fifty to one hundred fifty dollars a night for a room, but you can get some real bargains if you can come during the off seasons.
