Pros And Cons About Movie Downloading

By Selena Wilkerson

Since the early nineteen twenties, the motion picture has been a valued commodity in American culture. Beginning in just black and white and on a physical roll of film, movies are now digital and accessible through a variety of means. These include peer to peer services, online agents, and also of course the classic rental of movies can provide a download. Movie downloads can be come across at any time.

A huge pet peeve of frequent movie-watchers is the lack of quality some screenings exhibit. These are repeatedly given a term; bootleg. Bootleg videos have several attributes that distinguish them as lower quality. First of which, is the sound that is literally secondhand. Shadows and coloring too dark for the picture plague the screen throughout the entire video. Despite the visual inconveniences, obtaining a video through such means is also illegal.

Peer to peer clients are some of the most viable facilitators of downloads not for just movies but other things as well. Videos, music, programs, flash content, and basically anything digital may be adapted from these. The functionality of such is fairly simple and similar to popular search engines. Type in what you are looking for and just click on a result that seems legitimate. This is illegal when dispensing or downloading content that is copyrighted under exclusive non-sharing terms.

Webware, a method for movie downloading gaining in esteem is an almost untraceable way to download movies. This just means copying and pasting the URL of a video found on the internet into a service and having it emailed to you. The same rules as peer to peer services apply here: no rights, no movie. Although it should be stated that almost everybody with a computer has done this, often on a daily basis, without a single legal repercussion.

Not regarded as benevolent, but still used are paid services on the internet getting genuine, good quality, licensed material. Amazon and iTunes are the epitome of digital media for sale. Besides the plus of quality and abiding by the law, there are hefty accumulative prices when buying songs in masses. This can easily compare to your phone bill if you want to fill up your new music player.

Torrents, specially encrypted files that when entered into the right programs will give you the download location of certain content have literally swept the online community. Torrents are another form of peer to peer sharing that go under the same copyright laws. On the pessimistic however, it is not wise to download a file you have not personally experienced and have had the opportunity to verify as safe. Many people, assumedly to be annoying, upload viruses disguised as content in high demand.

Taking a movie directly from a disc can be done through the installation and use of software constructed for the purpose. It is faster than a download because it requires no internet connection which can deter the progress of a file. Still, if you already have the disc obtaining the digital file should be useless.

To download a movie there are several methods, each with its own set of pros and cons. For example, ripping DVDs is fast and easy however futile in practice. Using peer to peer services such as Limewire and downloading from torrents always hold the threats of harmful content to your computer. Ironically enough, paying for movies are the safest and best-quality route for downloads.
