A Great Mayan Experience - Tikal Tour In Peten Guatemala

By Marina K. Villatoro

Going to Tikal? Why what is there? Well let's start by saying that it is a magnificent, ancient Mayan city and one of the most important ones. It is located in the middle of Guatemala's northern cloud forest.

It is located in the middle of Guatemala's northern cloud forest. Its actual name is Tikal National Park in Peten, Guatemala. It is also one of Guatemala's main touristic attractions. Here you will find pyramids, temples, underground passages and lots and lots of wildlife.

But I came by myself and let me tell you that to get to know this place on your own is a very difficult task. About a month ago my husband and I decided to go back, this time we went with our 6 year old son.

About a month ago my husband and I decided to go back, this time we went with our 6 year old son. Since it was so hard for me to explore this place by myself before we decided to do some research and found a great tour.

We walked along many easy hiking trails and were able to see some beautiful birds and howler monkeys.

We walked along many easy hiking trails and were able to see some beautiful birds and howler monkeys. I know that since there is a lot of walking involved not many people will like the idea of taking this tour but as soon as you see the temples and other buildings you will see that it was worth the trouble. You will be accompanied by a bilingual guide all the time. A bit later you will have a filling and tasty lunch. At the end they will drop you off at your hotel.

Another good thing to mention is the fact that the entrance fee is included in the price. Believe me it is a trip you don't want to miss.
