By Mark Walters

There are so many different parts to the city of London that your visiting experience will depend on which part you travel to. It is effectively lots of towns directly joined onto one another, with these being some of the highlights:

Camden - Even though it is not all that pretty, Camden Town is a place to where tourists flock. It is popular because of its vibrant market and underground music scene. Each weekend, approximately 100,000 visitors go to the market to find objects that they would not otherwise be able to purchase in one shopping trip.

Covent Garden & The Strand - Host to a mixture of theatres, hotels and shops, the Strand, which is a wide street that runs from Trafalgar Square towards the City, is invariably thronged with people and vehicles. Off the Strand you will find Covent Garden which is filled with street entertainers like mimes, dancers and magicians, as well as with charming bars and cafes.

Chelsea - Chic boutiques, antiques shops and charming eighteenth and nineteenth century houses combine to make Chelsea one of the most desirable areas in London. The main shopping area is King's Road which will keep any keen shopper entertained for hours on end. Chelsea is also where the Premier League football champions, Chelsea FC, play.

Kensington - This town is perfect for people who love to shop and hope to catch a glimpse of royalty. There are many stores hawking anything and everything, and of course, Kensington Palace. If you have your heart set on viewing a royal while you are in London, this town is the best place to do so. Even if you do not manage to see a royal, you will be certain to get lots of great photographs.

Oxford Circus & Piccadilly Circus - These are two of London's most iconic sites and draw millions of tourists each year. Piccadilly Circus is a rather untidy, busy place, but it is a central hub in the West End of London and a common meeting place. If you're looking to go to Oxford Street to visit the major shopping area in London, Oxford Circus is the ideal route to take.

Soho & Leicester Square - Action abounds here as there is a fabulous restaurant, bar and pub scene in colorful Soho and frequent UK movie premieres in Leicester Square which is conveniently situated right next door. There are often TV and movie stars hanging around these places so be sure to take your camera and autograph book.

Westminster - The home of the UK government for the United Kingdom can be found in Westminster, as can the world famous Westminster Abbey. Huge, stately structures are viewable from each corner of every road, and you will be amazed at the amount of history that you will see. A walk around Westminster is like take a step back in time to the height of the UK's days of glory.
