The Animation Movie Hit Wall-E

By Marisol Beck

WALL-E is a Disney Pixar movie that came out in movie theaters on June 27th of 2008. Critics have rated this film very highly. It has it's funny moments, it's serious moments, and the in between. Wall-E has stolen the heart of many viewers. This post-apocalyptic robot is growing in popularity, and growing fast.

WALL-E has been nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars. This is such a milestone! No animated movie has ever won Best Picture. This film not only represents friendship and the extend that some go to keep it alive, but it also symbolizes love. Some of you might laugh at that remark, but when you can feel a connection between two animated characters, you know it has been put together very precisely.

Small in size but big at heart, Wall-E embarks on a journey that could change destiny forever. This trip could could change the fate of robots and mankind. This small robot has no idea that what he will find in outer space could take over the entire world. The reason Wall-E left his normal lifestyle is because he met another robot, Eve. Eve stole his heart immediately, and when she left for the distant future, Wall-E followed along like a little puppy.

Wall-E was originally created to clean a waste-covered world. He piled up, picked up, and compressed trash every day. Who knew this might be the best job he has ever had. It leads him to Eve, which leads him to outer space, which leads him to the fate of mankind. Destiny is in the hands of a small robot!

When wall-e arrives to the distant future, he is preoccupied with Eve, whom he first left for. But, things start to uncover. He begins to realize that not only his kind, but humanity could be in jeopardy due to imbalances. I am not going to give away the ending. You will have to watch it for yourself!

I will briefly run though a couple of the cast members in this spectacular movie. Wall-E and MO are both voiced by the very talented Ben Burtt. Ben is an american sound designer for multiple movies including the world wide phenomenon Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark, E. T. The Extra-Terrestrial, and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Obviously, you can now see, if you didn't before, that Ben Burtt is very productive in his job.

The costar of Wall-E is Elissa Knight, who is the voice of Eve. She is an actress in many other animated movies. Elissa plays Lil aka "3" in Toy Story 3, Tia in Cars, and a woman in the restaurant in Ratatouille. A couple other character voices consist of Fred Willard who voices Shelby Forthright - BnL CEO, John Ratzenberger who voices John, and Kathy Najimy who voices Mary.

Grab some popcorn, relax, kick back, and enjoy this wonderful film. Critics give two thumbs up! Disney Pixar movies have yet to disappoint it's audience! Therefore, this one will not disappoint you. Comedy, romance, tears, etc. There is a little bit of everything mixed into the movie!
