The Legendary Phoenix Park Of Dublin - A Close Up View Through Words

People from all corners of the world have such stressful lives to live and they long for peaceful moments at least once in a while. Such peaceful moment can be obtained in the parks of our locality. Likewise, the parks in Dublin have earned quite a name for them and have been able to serve as a stress reliever for most of the people without the need of medicines. Parks which are historically famous and which are full of animals and birds are also preferred by people around the world. Who will feel stressed when green lawns and flowers are around us?

Ireland has been able to help its people in maintaining a very relaxed life because of the availability of many places where peace and quiet reigns over stress and strain. Flowers, birds, animals, monuments and most importantly, lakes and ponds full of clear water are available in all of those parks in this island. Having lost much of the precious wildlife, resources and time, Ireland has been concentrating in developing the land at a steady pace which has helped improve the land of its status. Irish people have made many steps towards the improvements of the parks in Ireland, under the direction of their government. Proper agencies have been setup to collect necessary funds from the government and to spend them as effective as possible for the betterment of the park.

The Phoenix Park of Dublin City Center is one of the legendary parks in Ireland which is of over seven hundred and seven hectares in area and has a wall of sixteen kilometers in circumference. The entire park is covered in greenery and lawns, combined with sweet smelling flowers and herbs. Fallow Deer have been preserved here under the list of protected animals of Ireland. Being at a comfortable distance of three kilometers from Dublin, we find the place to suit for the animals and for us as well. It is called by the Irish local name. "Pirc an Fhionn-Uisce" and it means clear water.

True to its name, the area is the source of very clean and clear water for the animals and plants. Covering an area of seven hundred and fifty acres of land, it is in the list of the oldest parks of the island. The park has such an effect on the people of Ireland and it makes them visit the park at least once in a fortnight or month. Children can find many play structures built by the government of Ireland and enjoy as much as the grownups do.

The park contains many monuments which are listed as follows; the Papal cross erected by Pope John Paul the second, The Wellington Monument depicting the victories of the Duke of Wellington, The legendary Corinthian column of a Phoenix erected by Lord Chesterfield and the official residence of the United States Ambassador to Ireland named Deer-field Residence are some of the important monuments inside the park. Bearing around three hundred and fifty one species of rare plants, the park is one of the most preserved botanical garden of Ireland. This has been so important to the Irish that they spent a huge amount of money just for maintaining the greenery of the park.
