It wasn't that long ago that a trip to the corner video shop was the most convenient way to get a movie. Now, with internet usage exploding, movie downloads are becoming very popular. Here are some examples of movies you can acquire through a movie download site.
Fantastic Invasion of The Planet Earth: Discharged theatrically in 3-D, this movie was pretty much a disaster. A young couple finds themselves caught in a deserted town encircled in a mammoth bubble. The original title, The Bubble, was far less deceiving: there are no foreigners and no "invasion" in fact, and not much enthusiasm, either. Cast includes Filmed in widescreen Space-Vision. Cast includes Michael Cole, Deborah Walley, and Johnny Desmond. (91 minutes, 1996)
My Son the Fanatic: Author Hanif Kureishi once more studies a Pakistani coming to terms with his life in England. In this case it's a taxi driver Puri who's disassociated from his spouse, and whose child is dissenting against him about things he just can't comprehend. Cast includes Om Puri, Rachel Griffits, StelIan Skarsgard, Akbar Kurtha, Gopi Desai, Harish Patel, and Bhasker Patel. (89 minutes, 1997)
Mr. Nice Guy: Jackie Chan, a Television cook, is chased by 2 sets of men who are both after an incriminating videotape that's fallen into his hands. One of Jackie's better later films, set in Melbourne and, like most of his best films, an action comedy. Shimmering and arousing fights abound, the best and funniest orchestrated at a construction site. Cast includes Jackie Chan, Richard Norton, Miki Lee, Karen McLymont, Gamelle Fitzpatrick, and Vince Poletto. (113 minutes, 1997)
Hook, Line & Sinker: Conceivably ludicrous premise about allegedly dying man who runs up one hundred thousand in credit card debt. Even Lewis fans can be bored. Cast includes Jerry Lewis, Peter Lawford, Anne Francis, Pedro Gonzalez-Gonzalez, Jimmy Miller, and Kathleen Freeman. (91 minutes, 1951)
Pulp Fiction: This is Quentin Tarantino's masterpiece work. The story weaves around four separate, yet intertwined events. There was an accidental killing, the crime bosses wife's overdose, the boxer who didn't throw the fight, and pair of small time crooks trying to rob a restaurant.
Sextette: Amazing is the only word for this comedy in reference to a Hollywood glamour girl whose numerous ex-spouses keep popping up while she is on her latest honeymoon. Naturally there's shock value in noticing octogenarian Mae still strutting her stuff, however it wears out pretty quick. Cast includes Mae West, Tony Curtis, Ringo Starr, Dom DeLuise, Timothy Dalton, George Hamilton, Alice Cooper, Keith Moon, Rona Barrett, and Walter Pidgeon. (91 minutes, 1978)
Prospero's Books: At first challenging although unsatisfactory adaptation of Shakespeare's The Tempest, with most of the dialog mentioned by 87-year-old Gielgud (in the role of Prospero); the other performers are little more than an add on, and there's a mind boggling amount of nudity. The film is stuffed with shocking, layered imagery, attractive production layout and cinematography. Pleasure can rely on your patience for Greenaway's approach to the material. Cast includes John Gielgud, Michael Clark, Michel Blanc, Isabelle Pasco, and Tom Bell. (129 minutes, 1991)
No Love for Johnnie: Civilized research of congressmen who cares only in regards to winning the ballot. Cast includes Peter Finch, Stanley Holloway, Mary Peach, Mervyn Johns, Donald Pleasence, Dennis Cost, and Oliver Reed. (110 minutes, 1961)
Disturbia: Kale has had his life turned upside down. His father's death, which he feel responsible for has traumatized him badly. Snapping on an insensitive teacher, he punches the guy out. Instead of jail time he must serve a period of house confinement. Going stir crazy stuck at home, Kale, and his girlfriend Ashley, start spying on the neighbors. This voyeurism gets serious when they start to suspect that one of the neighbors is a serial killer.
