Help In Choosing A Luggage Set

By Rachel Curtie

A good luggage set is important for anyone who plans to travel. A good luggage set should last most consumers for many years and protect your clothing and other items you need to carry while traveling. Choosing a good set of luggage can make traveling much more enjoyable.

Luggage sets are available in several different price ranges. Inexpensive three to four piece sets often sell for less than $100. Larger sets of designer luggage may cost thousands of dollars.

Most persons cannot afford and do not need the latter, however the former is often they type of luggage that will fall apart on the first use. Choosing luggage somewhere in between can give you a very affordable yet durable set of luggage that will not spread all of your belongings somewhere in the airport.

The included pieces of a luggage set will vary in size and number, according to who has manufactured the luggage. Nearly every set includes the large suitcase, carry on bag, and a toiletry or make up case. You will find larger sets that can include duffel bags, backpacks, garment bags or laptop computer cases.

Most of the time a luggage set will actually save you money. You will get several pieces at a lower price than if you bought them individually. One advantage of a matched set is that when you get to baggage claim your luggage is easier to identify. You are not having to remember the odd ball suitcases while everything is spinning around in front of you.

When you purchase luggage, be sure that you check for quality. In addition to seams and zippers, be sure that you check the handles and wheels. If a handle breaks, the luggage becomes almost unusable for travel. Losing a wheel means that the bag has to be carried. Bad zippers can cause you to lose important items.

Carry on bags should have several pockets outside that have a zipper because this will allow for tucking in items at the last minute and for retrieving those items without the opening and sorting of your bag in front of the whole plane.

When you shop for a luggage set, engage your traveling mind and consider how each piece of luggage will be used on a trip. This will help you to chose the set that will serve you best the next time you travel and for many years into the future.
